2025: A Landmark Year for Apple Services – Breaking Records and Expanding Horizons!
It's official: 2025 was a phenomenal year for Apple services, marked by record-breaking achievements and significant global expansion. From milestone anniversaries to groundbreaking innovations, Apple's services ecosystem reached new heights, impacting users worldwide. Let's dive into the highlights!
Celebrating Milestones and Global Reach
Apple celebrated major anniversaries across its services, including Apple Podcasts, Music, and News, all thanks to the incredible artists, creators, and storytellers who bring these platforms to life. But that's not all – Apple brought its services to more users than ever before. Apple Pay is now available in a staggering 89 markets, Find My launched in South Korea, and Apple Fitness+ expanded to 28 additional countries and regions. Talk about global impact!
Apple TV: Soaring Engagement and Blockbuster Success
Apple TV experienced a remarkable surge in engagement last December, with total viewing hours up 36% compared to the previous year, setting a new monthly record. This success was fueled by strong audience growth in Europe and Latin America, continued expansion in the U.S., and the global streaming debuts of acclaimed content like F1, Pluribus, and The Family Plan 2, as well as the timeless A Charlie Brown Christmas. The year was also propelled by Apple's summer blockbuster, F1 – the No. 1 movie at the global box office, the top film on Apple TV, and the highest-grossing sports movie of all time – and the premiere of Pluribus, Apple TV’s biggest series to date.
Apple Pay: Revolutionizing Transactions Worldwide
Apple Pay continues to provide value to users, merchants, and banks across the globe, now available in 89 markets with over 11,000 bank and network partners. Impressively, Apple Pay eliminated over $1 billion in global fraud and generated more than $100 billion in incremental merchant sales. During the peak holiday shopping weekend, Apple Pay purchases significantly outpaced overall consumer spending growth. And with iOS 26, Apple Pay empowers users to pay with bank- or lender-provided installments and rewards in stores.
Apple Maps: Enhanced Experiences and Expanded Coverage
Apple Maps expanded its Detailed City Experience to exciting new locations like New Orleans, Singapore, and Monaco, now totaling 34 cities. Furthermore, Maps introduced its all-new map to Mexico and Thailand, offering more accurate and detailed navigation. With iOS 26, Maps became even more personalized with features like Preferred Routes and Visited Places. This is a game changer for daily commutes and exploring new locations!
Apple Fitness+: Personalization and Global Expansion
In 2025, Apple Fitness+ marked its largest expansion by rolling out to 28 new countries and regions, including Chile, Hong Kong, and India. The service also introduced digitally dubbed workouts and meditations in Spanish and German, offering over 8,000 workouts and meditations in 4K Ultra HD. Fitness+ launched Custom Plans and enabled real-time performance metrics for AirPods Pro 3 users.
Apple Podcasts: Record-Breaking Year and Innovation
2025 was Apple Podcasts' best year yet, achieving record listeners, plays, and subscribers. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Podcasts curated "20 Years, 20 Podcasts We Love" and introduced new accessibility and discovery features. The platform also awarded its Show of the Year to The Rest Is History – a first for a UK series.
Apple News: Solidifying its Position and Expanding Content
As 2025 marked its 10th anniversary, Apple News solidified its position as the No. 1 news app in the U.S., Canada, and Australia, and No. 2 in the UK. News+ expanded its offerings with the debut of Apple News+ Food, which includes 100,000 recipes from 60 publications. It also introduced a new original puzzle, Emoji Game. To provide access to local coverage, Apple News now includes over 150 local newspapers and news feeds across 50 U.S. states and 7 Canadian markets.
Apple One: Simplifying Services with Incredible Value
Apple One offers users access to the best of Apple services in one monthly plan, providing incredible value for individuals and families. Apple One Individual and Family plans are available in over 100 markets, with Apple One Premier available in over 20 markets.
