In a thrilling showcase of emerging talent, the Rising Stars Challenge recently held its draft, featuring standout selections that have basketball enthusiasts buzzing with excitement. This event highlighted the future stars of the NBA, and the stakes were high as NBA Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony took the honor of naming the top pick.

Cooper Flagg, a promising forward from the Dallas Mavericks, was chosen as the first overall selection for the upcoming June NBA draft during the event. Following him, in an impressive showing of talent from the 2025 NBA draft class, Charlotte Hornets guard Kon Knueppel was picked second by none other than Tracy McGrady. The excitement continued as Vince Carter selected VJ Edgecombe from the Philadelphia 76ers with the third pick, while Derik Queen of the New Orleans Pelicans rounded out the top four picks.
The three teams, composed entirely of rookie and sophomore players, were drafted live on NBC's pregame show prior to the highly anticipated matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks, generating significant buzz among fans and analysts alike.

- Team T-Mac features Knueppel, Miami Heat center Kel'el Ware, Washington Wizards guard Tre Johnson and center Alex Sarr, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Ajay Mitchell, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Jaylon Tyson, and Memphis Grizzlies guard Cam Spencer.
- Team Vince is made up of Edgecombe, Queen, Wizards forward Kyshawn George, Chicago Bulls forward Matas Buzelis, Brooklyn Nets guard Egor Demin, and Memphis Grizzlies forwards Cedric Coward and Jaylen Wells.
But that’s not all! A fourth team was also created, consisting of players who have shown their skills in the G League this season. Among them are Trail Blazers center Yang Hansen, who was the 16th pick in June's draft, and LA Clippers center Yanic Konan Niederhauser, selected as the 30th pick. Additionally, this team includes four players on two-way contracts: David Jones Garcia (Spurs), Tristan Newton (Rockets), Alijah Martin (Raptors), and Ron Harper Jr. (Celtics), along with Sean East II from the G League’s Salt Lake City Stars.
These four teams will compete in a series of three games on February 13 as part of the All-Star festivities at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. The winners of the first two matchups will battle it out in a final game to crown the overall champion.
